A music festival which was due to take place in Grant Park in May has been postponed due to the Coronavirus.

However, organisers of Forres Live: Party at Grant’s have vowed to come back with an even better event next year and have assured customers they will get full refunds.

Forres Live was due to take place on May 9, however its organiser Gerry Verner has taken the decision to postpone the event following a Scottish Government directive that events attracting more than 500 people are not to go ahead.

Gerry who owns bespoke housing company Excel Scotland explained:

“This has been tough but with the date looming and everything being so uncertain at the moment we have taken the decision to postpone.

“We are devastated as so much work has gone in to creating a great day out, but under the circumstances it is the right thing to do.

“All of our suppliers from the bands, security teams, the food and drink providers, marquee companies have been contacted and all have been very understanding.

“What we do know, is that it is our intention to be back next May 8, with as many of the same bands as possible, with two stages, with a sensational food and drink offering, extra entertainment and possibly even more.”

Gerry who was staging the event to also raise funds for Maggie’s Highlands added:

“Our plan of action is to issue everyone with full refunds, and then reassess the event for next May.

“We will then have a re-launch at an appropriate time.

“All of us are feeling deflated, but to a degree, the situation is out of our hands, and we hope that our customers will understand that.”
