Fort William Job Fair

An opportunity for local businesses and anyone looking for employment 

The Highland Council’s Employability Team and DWP are encouraging people of all ages and skills living in Lochaber to come along to special Job Fair event taking place in Fort William on Tuesday 25 April.

The event is a chance for local businesses who may be facing challenges in finding staff to promote their job opportunities.

Chair of the Council’s Economy and Infrastructure Committee.

Cllr Ken Gowans is encouraging businesses and anyone looking for employment to come along.

He said:

“You may be considering a change in career, thinking about returning to work after a break, or looking for your first job.

“This Job Fair is a great opportunity to bring people looking for part-time or full-time work face to face with businesses looking for staff.

He added:

“Members of our Employability Service will be available on the day to offer support to both the public and businesses.

“It’s all about being proactive in filling vacancies and preparing for what we hope will be a very busy season in 2023.

“I hope as many people as possible take up this opportunity.”

The Job Fair will take place in the New Connections building from 10am to 3pm.

A key worker from Highland Employability Support Service will be available between 10-12 at UHI West Highland in Mallaig for employability support as well as having a list of the job vacancies being offered at the Fort William Jobs Fair

Businesses and employers attending the event include:

Mallaig Boat yard, Morrisons, NHS, Centred, William Hill, Alvance, KFC, Crieff Hydro family Hotels – promoting the hotels in Glencoe and Ballacullish, Strathmore Hotels- Alexandra and Ben Nevis FW, UHI West Highland and Premier Inn.

Support Services Highland Council Employability and Welfare Team, DWP, Able Futures and Ali Energy will be available to answer any questions you have.

Running alongside the event, and in conjunction with the DWP and the Highland Council’s Employability team, there will be a “virtual” job fair with vacancies being posted live and online as the day progresses.
