Four Goal Heroes Steal The Show as Goals Flow Across Highland Shinty

Four-goal hauls from Seamus Henderson, Graham Campbell and Jay MacRae provided the standout performances as another busy weekend of league shinty produced goals across the Highlands.

Skye secured an impressive 4–2 Premiership victory away at Caberfeidh, with Dan MacDonald and Archie Millar both scoring twice.

Caberfeidh had goals from Blair Morrison and Craig Morrison, but Millar’s second in stoppage time completed the victory for the visitors.

Col Glen took the points with a 1–0 victory over Kyles Athletic thanks to Andrew MacVicar’s 39th minute goal, while the Kinlochshiel and Kingussie fixture was postponed because of an unplayable field.

In the National Division, Inveraray produced a convincing 4–1 victory over Lovat as Fraser Watt scored twice alongside goals from Allan MacDonald and Coll MacKay.

North Division 1 provided some extraordinary individual scoring performances, with three players hitting four goals for their respective clubs.

Seamus Henderson scored four as Caberfeidh swept aside Glengarry 6–0, finding the net twice inside the opening five minutes before completing his hat trick in the 32nd minute and adding his fourth in the second half.

Graham Campbell matched that achievement for Fort William, scoring all four goals in their 4–1 victory over Kingussie, including a first half hat trick inside the opening 20 minutes.

Jay MacRae then made it three four-goal performances in the division as Kinlochshiel recorded a thumping 7–0 victory away at Skye.

Duncan MacMillan scored twice and Corrin Jack was also on target as Kinlochshiel completed an emphatic afternoon.

Newtonmore and Glenurquhart shared the points following a 2–2 draw, with Glen MacKintosh and Struan Ross scoring for Newtonmore after Bradley Sneddon and Glenn MacDonald had given Glenurquhart a two-goal advantage.

There were more goals in South Division 1 as Lochside Rovers recorded an 8–0 victory away at Glasgow Mid Argyll.

Ross MacMillan and Daniel Duffy both scored twice, while Lewis Buchanan completed a late hat trick with goals in the 73rd, 79th and 80th minutes.

In North Division 2, Kilmallie defeated Lochcarron 4–1, with Rory Knox scoring twice, while Lochaber were awarded the points after Strathglass were unable to field a team.

There was also a busy programme of youth shinty during the week, with Newtonmore recording an 11–1 victory over Fort William in the Under 17 Development League.

Jake Sandison scored four and Jack Clark added a hat trick for Newtonmore, while Lochaber were awarded the points after Glenurquhart were unable to raise a team.

Glengarry and Ardnamurchan shared eight goals in a 4–4 draw, while Strathglass recorded an 11–1 victory over Kilmallie.

At Under 14 level, Kingussie defeated Kinlochshiel/Lochcarron 3–0 and Fort William drew 1–1 with Lovat.

Newtonmore were 9–0 winners over Strathspey as Logan Foster and Lockie Christie both scored hat tricks, while Jessica Macniven scored three as Kilmallie defeated Strathglass 8–0.

With goals flowing across the senior and youth game, it was the individual scoring feats which provided the lasting impression from another action-packed week of shinty.
