About the Golden Steering Wheel
The prestigious “Golden Steering Wheel” award is the ultimate honour in the European automotive industry.
It was conceived by Axel Springer in 1976, founder of the publishing house bearing his name.
The award is organised by ‘BILD am Sonntag’, in cooperation with ‘AUTO BILD’ since 2009.
Every year, honours for vehicles in different categories are decided by an ‘AUTO BILD’ readers’ poll and assessment by a jury consisting of experts, technicians, editors-in-chief and celebrities.
The celebrities include well-known names such as Andrea Kaiser and Rhea Harder, influencers like Betty Taube and Twenty4tim as well as racing driver Hans-Joachim Stuck and rally world champion Sébastien Ogier.
The final test drives took place at the Lausitzring on 29th September.
