Harrison Ford Puts His Name to Highland Whisky With Glenmorangie Release

Glenmorangie has unveiled a new limited edition single malt created in collaboration with Harrison Ford, bringing a touch of Hollywood to the Highlands.

The release, available from 4 May 2026, sees the actor step beyond endorsement and into the creative process, working closely with the distillery to shape a whisky that reflects his personal taste.

Ford first connected with Glenmorangie while filming the brand’s Once Upon a Time in Scotland campaign, where his time at the distillery sparked a deeper interest in the craft behind the dram.

In the latest chapter of the series, he reveals the Glenmorangie Harrison Ford Limited Edition, crafted in collaboration with Glenmorangie’s acclaimed Director of Whisky Creation Dr Bill Lumsden MBE

That relationship evolved into a hands on collaboration with Bill Lumsden, the distillery’s Director of Whisky Creation, as they worked through a range of cask samples to define the final character.

The Glenmorangie Harrison Ford Limited Edition has now been unveiled by the actor himself in a new episode in the Once Upon a Time in Scotland series

The result is a whisky that blends classic bourbon cask matured Glenmorangie with a selection finished in toasted Portuguese red wine casks, creating a balance between elegance and a sharper edge.

Zesty citrus notes lead on the palate, supported by layers of muscovado sugar, apricot and butter candy, before giving way to a longer finish marked by orange oil, leather and oak tannin.

It is a flavour profile designed to match Glenmorangie’s signature smoothness while introducing what the distillery describes as an “intriguing bite.”

Ford’s verdict, delivered in typically understated fashion, was simple.

“It’s nice. It’s very nice.”

Reflecting on the process, he spoke of the experience behind the bottle.

“I loved my time at Glenmorangie, and have enormous respect for the team at the Distillery.

“They are true craftspeople.

“Collaborating with Dr Bill was a real treat, a chance to get inside the mind of a maker who combines art and science to create incredible single malt Scotch whisky.

“We tasted many casks together on our search for a Glenmorangie that would speak to my taste.

“Truth be told, I liked a lot of them, but the Glenmorangie Harrison Ford Limited Edition is everything I want in a whisky.

“I’m immensely proud of our creation.

“I hope you enjoy it. I certainly do.”

Dr Lumsden said the collaboration allowed them to refine something both personal and true to the distillery’s style.

“We knew Harrison was a whisky lover even before he arrived at Glenmorangie, so I was thrilled to make him an honorary member of our Whisky Creation Team as we went about creating his very own whisky!

“I think we’re both delighted with the result.

“In keeping with our signature style and Harrison’s, the Glenmorangie Harrison Ford Limited Edition is very elegant, and smooth.

“But since Harrison also likes his whisky with a little bite, we layered classic bourbon casks with the tang and structure of toasted Portuguese red wine casks.

“You’ll taste all the hallmark Glenmorangie notes of honeysuckle, citrus and buttery softness, countered by a marmalade edge and grippy tannins.

“This whisky is timeless and endlessly surprising, much like Harrison himself.”

The launch has been supported by a cinematic campaign, including a film shot in Wyoming and a series of poster style visuals placed in major cities.

For the Highlands, it is another moment where a global name meets local craft, with a whisky that carries both heritage and a fresh story behind it.

The Glenmorangie Harrison Ford Limited Edition brings together Highland whisky tradition and Hollywood collaboration, offering a new expression shaped by craftsmanship, character and a simple verdict that says it all.

Glenmorangie Harrison Ford Limited Edition will be available to purchase from today, 04 May 2026 at select UK retailers, glenmorangie.com and the distillery visitor centre (RRP £75).
