Shinty action continued across Scotland on Saturday 11th July 2026, with the Tulloch Homes Camanachd Cup, Strathdearn Cup and Bullough Cup all providing drama as clubs battled for places in the next round.
The standout contest came in the Tulloch Homes Camanachd Cup, where Kingussie needed extra time to overcome Kinlochshiel in a gripping encounter.
Kinlochshiel raced into an early two goal lead through Jay MacRae before Kingussie fought back, with Zander Michie levelling late in normal time before Dylan Borthwick struck the winner five minutes from the end of extra time to secure a dramatic 3–2 victory.
Newtonmore also progressed in emphatic fashion, sweeping aside Glenurquhart 6–0, while Oban Camanachd continued their impressive season with a convincing 4–1 victory over Caberfeidh.
Skye completed the quarter final line up after edging Fort William 3–2 in another closely contested tie.
The Strathdearn Cup semi finals produced two very different contests.
Newtonmore powered into the final with an emphatic 8–1 victory over Skye, while Kingussie booked their place alongside them thanks to a hard fought 1–0 win over Fort William.
The Bullough Cup semi finals also reached their conclusion, with Kilmory edging Bute 2–1 and Lochside Rovers defeating Kyles Athletic 3–0 to secure their places in the final.
League action continued despite the focus on the cup competitions.
In the Premiership, Kyles Athletic secured a valuable 3–2 victory over Col Glen in the only top flight fixture to survive.
The National Division produced plenty of goals, with Lovat defeating Glasgow Mid Argyll 7–3, Bute recording a convincing 5–0 win over Oban Celtic and Kilmallie edging Inveraray 2–1.
North Division 1 saw Glengarry continue their strong form with a 3–2 victory away at Glenurquhart, while Strathglass secured an impressive 3–2 win over Kinlochshiel.
In South Division 1, Inveraray defeated Ballachulish 4–1, with Nairn Jackson helping himself to a hat trick.
Women’s cup action also produced several dominant performances, with Badenoch defeating Skye 7–0 in the WCA Premier Cup and Kinlochshiel overcoming Inverness 6–0.
The Valerie Fraser Cup delivered more goals as Lovat defeated Glenurquhart 7–3, while Dunadd hit fourteen in a commanding 14–2 victory over Tayforth.
Across the competitions, another weekend of cup football delivered late drama, dominant displays and plenty of goals as the race for silverware gathered pace.
