Police on a routine night patrol uncovered a major drugs haul near North Kessock after spotting a suspicious vehicle parked in a secluded car park shortly after midnight on Friday 14 November.

Inside, officers found cocaine, cannabis and a large quantity of both genuine and counterfeit cash, with the total value of the recovery estimated at around £65,600.

A man was arrested at the scene and has been charged in connection with the discovery.

He is due to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court on Monday 17 November.

Detective Inspector Calum Reid said the find shows how frontline policing and public information work together to disrupt the flow of illegal drugs across Highland communities.

“These recoveries highlight our commitment to tackling dangerous and illegal drugs in our local communities,” he said.

“We are determined to protect the public from this harmful criminality by disrupting the drugs trade and preventing their manufacture and distribution.”

He urged anyone with concerns to come forward, reminding people that even small pieces of information can make a difference.

“Information from the public is crucial,” he said.

“We will continue to act on intelligence we receive and ask anyone with information or concerns to call us on 101 or contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”

The investigation remains ongoing.
