A man has been arrested and charged following the reported serious sexual assault of a teenage girl in Oban.

Police Scotland said officers received a report at around 11.15pm on Saturday 25 July of the serious sexual assault of a 15 year old girl at playing fields on Mossfield Avenue.

A 25 year old man has since been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

A report will now be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
