Man Dies Following A9 Crash Near Dunkeld

A 62 year old man has died following a single vehicle crash on the A9 near Dunkeld.

Police were called at around 10.25am on Monday, 17 August, after a white Toyota Hilux crashed on the southbound carriageway.

Emergency services attended but the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed.

The A9 was closed while police carried out an investigation and the vehicle was recovered.

The road later reopened.

Road policing officers are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash or saw the Toyota Hilux beforehand to come forward.

Police are also asking motorists who were travelling in the area at the time to check their dash cam footage for anything which could assist the investigation.

Sergeant David Farr said:

“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died at this extremely difficult time.

“Our enquiries are ongoing, and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash or saw the vehicle prior to the crash to get in contact with officers.

“I would also ask those driving in the area at the time with dash-cam footage to please review this to it has captured anything that could assist with our investigation.”
