Moray Candidate Allan Duffy Backs Fergus Ewing on Opposition To Offshore Wind Proposal

Allan Duffy, the Alliance to Liberate Scotland candidate for Moray, has backed Fergus Ewing in opposing proposals for the Moray FLOW Park development.

The statement comes as debate continues over the Offshore Solutions Group project, with concerns raised about its impact on tourism, fishing and the marine environment in the Moray Firth.

Duffy, a former Highland councillor and military veteran, said he supports the objection on multiple grounds, particularly the potential consequences for local industries and wildlife.

Allan Duffy said:

“As a former Highland Councillor and proud Military veteran; I have worked closely with Moray Council on shared issues in the past.

“I fully support Fergus in his opposition to the FLOW-Park for a number of reasons.

“Critics have branded the proposals as environmental vandalism, and I am in complete agreement.

“The proposals will cause irrevocable damage to Moray’s tourism industry; not to mention they are incredibly dangerous for the marine environment in the Moray Firth; where we have stunning bottlenose dolphins that attract thousands of tourists every year.

“Our Fishing industry needs all the support it can get; given the thoroughly atrocious treatment our fisherfolk are receiving at the hands of the Westminster Government; and the FLOW-Park would do nothing to enhance this, if anything it would damage the industry even further.

“If elected as the Constituency MSP for Moray; I pledge to the people that I will work alongside Fergus Ewing and do everything I can to prevent this development from damaging Moray.

“Moray deserves a constituency MSP that will stand up for what the people want, and it is clear to me that the people do not want the FLOW-park.”

The Moray FLOW Park proposal has become a focal point in the region, with supporters highlighting energy potential and critics warning of long term environmental and economic impact.

Duffy’s intervention adds to growing political pressure around the development as candidates set out their positions ahead of the election.

The issue is expected to remain a key point of debate locally, particularly as communities weigh the balance between renewable energy expansion and the protection of established industries and natural heritage.
