Motorcyclist Dies Following A862 Crash Near Ardullie

A 59 year old motorcyclist has died following a crash involving a motorcycle and a car on the A862 near Ardullie.

Emergency services were called at around 4.05pm on Monday, 17 August, following a collision involving a BMW GS1250 motorcycle and a silver Volkswagen Passat.

The male motorcycle rider was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other injuries were reported.

The A862 was closed while police carried out enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the collision.

The road reopened at around 9.50pm.

Police Scotland is now appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash, or saw either vehicle beforehand, to come forward.

Officers are particularly interested in hearing from motorists who may have dash cam footage which could assist their investigation.

Sergeant Neil MacDonald said:

“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died.

“Our enquiries are ongoing and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or any of the vehicles prior to contact us.

“I would also ask anyone with dash cam footage which could assist to get in touch.”
