ScotRail has published details of its new timetable, which started yesterday (Sunday, 2 June).
With the new timetable coming into place, customers are encouraged to check their journey on the website, mobile app, and through social media channels as train times may have changed.
There will be almost 100 additional services each weekday, including trains to new stations at Cameron Bridge and Leven, which form part of the historic reopening of the Levenmouth rail link.
Journey times will improve from North Fife to Edinburgh and there is a new timetable structure for Inverclyde, with 30 extra services every weekday, a more frequent service between Glasgow and Wemyss Bay, and better connections between rail and ferry at Gourock.
There will also be changes to some lightly used early Saturday morning services operating on some central belt routes to provide a more reliable service on busier trains later in the day.
Customers can check train times at scotrail.co.uk and on the ScotRail app.
Timetables can also be downloaded from the ScotRail website.
Scott Prentice, ScotRail Strategy & Planning Director, said:
“This is a fantastic timetable change for our customers, delivering improvements across the country, including almost 100 additional services each day and thousands of extra seats.
“We listened to feedback from customers through our public consultation, and we’re confident that the changes in the new timetable will be welcomed.
“We’re encouraging customers to check their journey before they travel as some train times have changed.”
