In a report published by the Scottish Government this week, NHS 24 has scored highly in several categories for patient facing boards in the iMatter Health and Social Care Staff Experience Survey 2024, while also recording their best results since the survey was introduced in 2017.

87% of NHS 24 respondents agreed that their organisation was a good place to work – making them the highest scoring national patient facing board and 2% higher than the national average of 85%.

A tool used by all staff in NHS Scotland, iMatter helps individuals, teams and health boards understand and improve staff experience.

2024 has seen the highest number of responses received from all participants since the survey began.

Other positive NHS 24 key statistics included the action plan completion rate, which soared to an impressive 92%, significantly surpassing the national average of 56%, and the Employee Engagement Index score rising by 3 points to 77, making NHS 24 one of the highest scoring national patient facing boards.

NHS 24 also recorded a strong response rate for completing the survey scoring 76%, well above the national average of 58%.

Jacqui Hepburn is NHS 24’s Deputy Chief Executive and Director of Workforce.

She explains how these results demonstrate NHS 24’s commitment to creating a positive workplace that invests in its staff:
