Police Appeal After Serious Assault in Inverness

Detectives are appealing for information following a serious assault in Inverness in the early hours of 25 April 2026.

The incident took place around 1.40am on Bank Lane, where an altercation left a 19 year old man requiring hospital treatment.

Police say two male suspects left the area following the attack and enquiries are ongoing to trace those responsible.

Officers are particularly keen to speak to a member of the public who intervened during the incident in an attempt to stop the assault.

They believe this individual, along with anyone else who witnessed what happened, may hold key information.

Detective Constable Ross Naismith said:

“Our enquiries are ongoing to trace those responsible for this attack.

“It is believed a member of the public intervened in an attempt to stop the assault and we are keen to trace this person and any others who may have information which could assist.

“We are also asking anyone with relevant CCTV or dash-cam footage to get in touch.”

Police are urging anyone who was in the area at the time, or who may have captured footage, to come forward.
