Three Post Offices in the Highlands and Islands may be about to close as part of a UK-wide shake-up, with 115 branches across the country ultimately being impacted.
Nearly 1,000 employees could be affected.
Branches could be transferred to retail partners such as WHSmith, Co-Op or be taken over by individual postmasters, but they may close permanently if these options fail.
The three threatened branches across the Highlands & Islands are:
- Inverness – 14-16 Queensgate, IV1 1AX
- Kirkwall – 15 Junction Road, KW15 1DD
- Stornoway – 16 Francis Street, HS1 2A
