From Monday (13 July 2020) staff operating the Corran Ferry in Lochaber will resume collecting fares for everyone using the crossing and new rates for the 2020-21 season will apply.
The new rates include a 3% increase that was agreed last year by the Council.
This should have been in place from 1 April but implementation was postponed due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
All users of the service should make sure that they follow all government advice on hygiene and social distancing when using the service.
This includes the wearing of face coverings which is now mandatory on all public transport including enclosed areas on vehicle and passenger ferries.
Payment by card is preferred to cash but if paying by cash, travellers are advised to have the correct amount ready to hand over to staff.
Occupants in vehicles are being asked to make sure they wear a face covering for all interaction with staff and turn off the vehicles’ interior fan and wind down their vehicles window before the purser approaches them.
Foot passengers too must make sure they wear face coverings when using the enclosed passenger area.
