Shinty Delivers Goals, Cup Action and Heavy Scorelines Across The Highlands

Shinty action continued across Scotland on Saturday 2nd May 2026, with the opening round of the Camanachd Cup and a full programme of league fixtures delivering goals, dominant wins and high scoring contests across the Highlands.

In the Tulloch Homes Camanachd Cup, Glenurquhart secured a strong 6–2 win over Kilmallie, with Alfie MacLeod among the scorers in an impressive attacking display.

Oban Celtic produced one of the standout results of the weekend with a 7–2 win over Ardnamurchan, while Inveraray recorded a convincing 4–0 victory over Bute.

Lovat delivered the most dominant performance of the round with a 9–0 win over Inverness, with goals spread across the side in a relentless display.

In the Mowi Premiership, Newtonmore continued their strong form with a 3–0 win over Caberfeidh, while Kingussie left it late to secure a 2–0 victory over Col Glen.

Oban Camanachd edged a tight 1–0 win over Fort William, and Kinlochshiel recorded a solid 3–1 win over Kyles Athletic.

Lochaber also secured a 2–0 win over Skye to round off the Premiership fixtures.

North Division 1 delivered one of the games of the season so far, with Kinlochshiel edging a dramatic 7–6 win over Glengarry in a high scoring contest.

Newtonmore continued their dominance in the division with a 6–2 win over Caberfeidh, while Kingussie produced a statement 9–0 victory over Fort William.

In South Division 1, Inveraray and Glasgow Mid Argyll shared the points in a 3–3 draw, while Ballachulish secured a 3–2 win over Kyles Athletic.

North Division 2 saw Lochcarron take a 5–2 win over Boleskine, while Lochaber recorded a 3–1 victory over Lewis and Lovat edged a 2–1 win against Beauly in a competitive fixture.

In South Division 2, Bute delivered a dominant 7–1 win over Tayforth, while Strachur Dunoon secured a 3–2 victory over Uddingston.

Across the divisions, goals were in no short supply, with several sides beginning to assert themselves as the season builds momentum.
