Shinty action continued across Scotland on 20th May and Saturday 23rd May 2026, with cup semi finals, league fixtures and another weekend of heavy scorelines producing goals and drama across the Highlands.
The MacTavish Cup semi finals delivered two huge statements, with Kingussie producing a ruthless 8–0 victory away at Lovat to book their place in the final in emphatic fashion.
Roddy Young struck four times in a relentless attacking display, while Savio Genini, Dylan Borthwick, Ruaraidh Anderson and Rory Munro also found the net.
The other semi final proved far tighter, with Newtonmore edging past Caberfeidh after extra time in a dramatic 3–3 encounter.
In the Glasgow Celtic Society Challenge Cup semi finals, Oban Camanachd powered to a commanding 6–1 victory over Inveraray, while Glasgow Mid Argyll edged a close 3–2 contest against Col Glen.
The Chieftain’s Cup also produced goals in abundance, with Glengarry defeating Ardnamurchan 8–2 and Lochcarron hitting eight without reply against the English Shinty Association.
Lewis secured a 4–1 win over Tayforth, while Ballachulish progressed after a penalty shootout against Aberdeen University following a goalless draw.
In the Premiership, Fort William secured a solid 3–0 win over Kyles Athletic, with Archie MacKinnon scoring twice.
In the National Division, Glenurquhart produced a composed 4–0 win away at Bute, while Kilmallie delivered one of the standout league performances of the weekend with a 7–1 victory against Oban Celtic.
Earlier in the week, Inveraray had already impressed with a dominant 5–1 win over Oban Celtic in a rearranged National Division fixture.
North Division 1 saw Glenurquhart continue their strong form with a convincing 4–0 win over Fort William, while Strathglass edged Caberfeidh 2–1 and Skye secured a 2–0 victory against Inverness.
In North Division 2, Beauly defeated Strathglass 3–0 and Lochaber edged a competitive 2–1 win over Lovat.
South Division 2 delivered the biggest scoreline of the weekend, with Strachur Dunoon hammering Stirling 15–0 in a relentless attacking performance.
Uddingston and Bute shared the points in a 1–1 draw to complete the senior league fixtures.
Across the divisions, the goals continue to flow as cup competitions and league football combine to build momentum heading towards the summer.
