New temporary average speed cameras on A82 to commence enforcement.

Police Scotland Safety Cameras will begin enforcement of the temporary average speed cameras on the A82 in an effort to improve road safety and encourage better speed compliance.

The average speed cameras will be deployed on a temporary basis following an increase of speeds and injury collisions on the A82 between Luss and Tarbet.

The cameras will commence enforcement from Monday the 23rd September.

The new technology employed in these cameras make use of renewable energy using a combination of solar and bio-methanol sources.

They will be powered by off-grid sources which enables the technology to be deployed at locations previously inaccessible for fixed infrastructure.

The same technology was also implemented at the beginning of the month on the A836 between Reay and Thurso.

Speeds and injury collisions on the road will continue to be monitored during this period.

Further information on Police Scotland Safety Cameras and the camera locations can be found on the website safetycameras.gov.scot
