Urgent Search for Missing Man in South Uist After Crash

Police are appealing for help to trace Iain MacDonald, who has been reported missing from the Daliburgh area of South Uist.

The 58-year-old was last seen around 4.30pm on Sunday, 19 October, 2025.

Iain is described as being 5ft 9ins tall, of medium build, with short white hair and facial hair.

He was last seen wearing a green body warmer, a red checked shirt, black trousers and dark boots.

It is understood that Iain had been a passenger in a one-vehicle crash shortly before he was reported missing.

Police are urging anyone who may have seen him or has information about where he might be to come forward.

Sergeant Fiona Murray said:

“We are appealing to anyone who has seen Iain, or has any information regarding where he may be, to come forward and speak to officers.

“Our priority is to trace him and ensure he is safe and well.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1950 of 19 October, 2025.
