We Must Ensure Organisations Supporting Supporting Survivors Have They Need

MSP for the Highlands and Islands Emma Roddick has urged the Scottish Government to ensure organisations in rural areas that provide support to victims of gender-based violence have all the resources they need.

Commenting, Emma said:

“I have met with numerous organisations that provide vital support and advice to survivors in my region, including Rape and Sexual Abuse Service Highland, which is doing so much to support folk in the Highlands.

“We know that times are challenging right now, but we cannot let that take away from the resources we provide to these organisations, especially in rural communities where support may be further away.

“I know personally how important it is that victims can access the type of support that is right for them, and this means that we must keep ensuring that organisations like RASASH have all that they need to keep supporting survivors.”
