A835 Resurfacing Works to Bring Daytime Convoys Near Glascarnoch Dam

Drivers using the A835 north of Glascarnoch Dam are being warned to expect daytime delays when essential resurfacing works begin on Monday 12 October.

BEAR Scotland will carry out the improvements on behalf of Transport Scotland, with work scheduled between 7am and 7pm from Monday to Friday until 23 October.

A lane closure and convoy system will operate during working hours, with traffic escorted safely through the site while the resurfacing is carried out.

The traffic management will be removed outside working hours and at weekends, when no work is scheduled to take place.

Access through the site will be maintained for emergency services throughout the project.

BEAR Scotland says the work is required to repair existing defects in the road surface and improve driving conditions along this section of the A835.

Further work will also be required at the same location during November, although dates have yet to be confirmed.

Euan Burnett, BEAR Scotland’s North West Planned Maintenance Manager said:

“This crucial surfacing project on the A835 North of Glascarnoch Dam will fix existing defects and significantly enhance the driving experience for all road users.

“Our teams are committed to executing these works quickly with safety as our top priority.

“We extend our gratitude to the local community and road users for their patience while we complete the improvements.

“To minimise delays, we recommend that motorists plan their journeys in advance by consulting the Traffic Scotland website for real-time travel updates.”

Motorists travelling through the area during the two weeks of work are being advised to allow additional time for their journeys while the daytime convoy system is operating.
