Community invited to film screening and discussion about Scotland’s future

The people of the Royal Burgh of Tain and surrounding areas are invited to a special screening of “Denmark: The State of Happiness” followed by an engaging Q&A session with renowned journalist and broadcaster Lesley Riddoch on 27th May at the Duthac Centre starting at 19:00.

This thought-provoking documentary explores Denmark’s successful social model and examines what Scotland might learn from this Nordic approach to governance, community, and wellbeing.

The film offers, in the words of commentator Val McDermid, “A tantalising glimpse of what Scotland could look like…and what we deserve.”

Following the screening, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in an open discussion about Scotland’s future and share their ideas about potential paths forward for the nation.

“We are delighted to welcome Lesley Riddoch to Tain.

“Do come along and see the film and then add your ideas to the discussion about what living in Scotland could be like in the future,” says event organiser Marilyn Wallace.

Lesley Riddoch is a respected journalist, broadcaster, and commentator on Scottish affairs who has long advocated for examining Nordic models of society as potential blueprints for Scotland’s development.
