Author and CBeebies Screenwriter Emily Dodd took a step back in time to launch the Highland Folk Museum children’s story competition.
Speaking from the museum’s tailor’s shop, Emily recorded a special video encouraging children between five and 14 years old to write a story of no more than 500 words.
“To celebrate the Year of Stories at the Highland Folk Museum, we’d like children to be inspired by the buildings, the people who lived or worked in the buildings or some of the objects.
“You could visit the museum and have a look around or go online and take a virtual tour to find out about the objects and the people and the places here to help you get inspired to come up with some really good ideas and enter the competition.
“Good luck and I look forward to reading your entries.”
The competition closes on 31 August 2022 and full details are available on the museum’s webpage www.highlifehighland.com/highlandfolkmuseum/summer-of-stories
