Community organisations across the Highlands are being urged to put forward their Expressions of Interest for the latest round of Community Regeneration Funding.
The Highland Council has opened applications for funding to support capital projects that address local needs and create meaningful, positive impacts.
The Community Regeneration Funding (CRF) brings together several community-led funding initiatives, including the Highland Coastal Communities Fund, the Place-Based Investment Programme, and Community-Led Local Development funds.
Groups have until 12pm on Friday 28 March to submit an Expression of Interest, with projects needing to be community-driven and ready to make a tangible difference.
Chair of The Highland Council’s Economy and Infrastructure Committee, Cllr Ken Gowans, is encouraging groups to seize this funding opportunity.
“This first round of CRF has specific criteria, and successful projects must be completed and claimed by the end of February next year,” he said.
“We are particularly looking for shovel-ready capital projects that can support community development and are urging groups to submit their Expressions of Interest by 28 March.”
The demand for funding continues to highlight the dedication of local communities and third-sector organisations striving for positive change.
Organisations with plans that align with key priorities are especially encouraged to apply.
Projects that support volunteers and volunteering initiatives will be given strong consideration.
Applications that help build capacity in community groups are also highly sought after.
Projects aimed at promoting or raising awareness of existing initiatives to help individuals and groups cope with the cost-of-living crisis will be welcomed.
Funding will also be prioritised for projects that create jobs and stimulate economic growth within communities.
Initiatives actively addressing the climate emergency and contributing towards net-zero goals are also strongly encouraged to apply.
Applicants should note that this round of CRF funding is exclusively for capital projects.
Project approvals are expected to be announced in April or May, pending funding confirmation from the Scottish Government.
Successful applicants must be ready to commence work in May 2025, with all projects required to be completed and claimed by 28 February 2026.
Applicants can request up to 100% of project costs, but they must demonstrate a clear need for this level of funding and show that alternative match funding options have been explored.
Funding requests should be no less than £5,000 and no more than £100,000.
Groups should apply for the precise amount needed to bring their projects to fruition.
The Expression of Interest form is available on the Highland Council’s website, where further details about the funding scheme can also be found.
The deadline for submission is 12pm on Friday 28 March, so interested groups are encouraged to act swiftly.
