Two frontline ambulance staff from Dunoon are appearing in the latest series of BBC Scotland’s Paramedics on Scene, giving viewers an insight into the unique challenges of delivering emergency care in rural Scotland.

Paramedic Ben Jackson and Technician Colin Davie feature in the second episode of the seventh series of the popular documentary.

The programme also follows staff working in the Scottish Ambulance Service’s North Ambulance Control Centre and the North Special Operations Response Team.

Filmed as crews respond to real emergencies, the series offers an authentic look at the work carried out by ambulance personnel across Scotland.

For Ben and Colin, the programme provided an opportunity to showcase the realities of working from a rural ambulance station and the commitment of emergency responders serving communities across Argyll.

Ben and Colin said:

“It was a pleasure representing Dunoon station and showing some of the challenges that rural stations face.

“I hope we demonstrated the efforts all the emergency services put into helping everyone who requires our assistance, doing the very best we can when they call 999 in their time of need.”

The long running series has become one of BBC Scotland’s most popular factual programmes, following ambulance crews, call handlers and specialist teams as they respond to a wide range of incidents across the country.

It also offers viewers a greater understanding of the pressures faced by frontline emergency services and the decisions crews make in often demanding circumstances.

Season seven of Paramedics on Scene is broadcast on BBC Scotland at 9pm every Sunday, with repeat showings on Fridays at 8pm, and is also available on BBC iPlayer.
