Dyke Primary School experienced a range of emotions on Thursday 27 June, during their annual prize-giving ceremony.
This year’s event was extra special as it included farewell presentations for the retiring Headteacher, Mr. Simpson, and class teacher, Mrs. Sheena Tulloch.
Together, Mr. Simpson and Mrs. Tulloch have dedicated over 67 years to teaching, 47 of those at Dyke.
Their commitment and passion for education have had a significant impact on many students and staff members.
During the ceremony, both teachers shared their favourite memories from their careers and thanked the students, parents, and staff for their support over the years.
They also expressed their excitement for the new experiences that retirement will bring.
The ceremony continued with the presentation of awards to students for their hard work and achievements in academics, sports, and contributions to the school community.
As the event came to an end, the school community said a heartfelt goodbye to Mr. Simpson and Mrs. Tulloch, who have left a lasting legacy.
Dyke Primary School now looks forward to welcoming new leadership and building on the strong foundation they have established.
Dyke Primary’s retiring Head Teacher, Stephen Simpson, said:
“It has been an honour and a privilege to lead such a wonderful school community.
“I will always cherish the memories and friendships I have made here.”
Dyke Primary’s retiring Class Teacher, Sheena Tulloch, said:
