Entries are already pouring in for a classic and modern vehicle show, with two cars coming all the way from Austria.
Wheels of Nairn will take place at the Links in the seaside town on September 20 and is expected to showcase up to 400 different kinds of vehicles.
It is the fifth time the event has taken place and as well as attracting an array of different vehicles from across the decades, the organisers of the event are also delighted to be welcoming back title sponsor Nairn Car Sales.
Lucy Harding, manager of Nairn BID which stages the event, said:
“The minute we open registration for Wheels of Nairn, there are a flurry of entries.
“In fact, all year round, we are regularly contacted by vehicle enthusiasts asking when they can register.
“It’s become a really important event on the town’s calendar and attracts people from far and wide.
“We know that people enjoy spending time in Nairn whilst taking part in the event and we know from our feedback that there are those who choose to eat out and stay in Nairn whilst the event is on.”
Lucy added:
“We were delighted to see that we had two entries from Austria and we have offered help to these visitors by recommending accommodation and places to visit whilst they are here.”
Wheels of Nairn was first launched in 2019 and has gone from strength to strength.
The event boasts 17 different vehicle categories.
Last year, the team introduced new classes to include campervans and 4x4s, tractors and agricultural vehicles, and rally and competition vehicles.
Dean Clark of Nairn Car Sales which he runs with his father Hamish, said they were delighted to be involved again:
“This is a great event for Nairn and we are very happy to be involved once again.
“West End Garage which we also operate was the original sponsor back in 2019 when the event first took place, then we launched Nairn Car Sales which is the car sales sector of the business, so we decided to put that name to it.
“It’s a great fit for us and it’s such a pleasure to see so many amazing vehicles and owners travelling to take part in what is always a great day out.”
Also back on board is the hospitality sponsor, Makes By Megs.
Owned by Nicola Mackinlay and Megan Maclean, the bakery offers a sweet treat and hot drink to the owners of the registered vehicles and the duo also take the opportunity to sell to the public and promote their café located in the town centre.
Sponsorship is a big part of the event with different opportunities available.
Each of the 17 different categories can be sponsored in the programme and there are bespoke packages too.
Lucy said:
“Each year we try to add a different offering to Wheels of Nairn and there are so many opportunities for people to promote their business.
“We are so pleased to be working with Nairn Car Sales again and Makes By Megs who have returned as our hospitality partner for the entrants.
“However, there are lots of other ways people can get involved.
“We would urge people to get in contact with us and we can find a way to include them.”
