Fancy Running Your Own Pub?

Inverness Event Could be The Start of Something New

For plenty of Highlanders, the idea has crossed their mind at least once.

Pack in the routine, run your own pub, meet people, build something of your own and become part of the local community rather than just watching life pass by from behind a desk.

Now a discovery event being held in Inverness next week is offering people the chance to find out what that life might actually look like.

Star Pubs will host a free no obligation Discovery Event at the Chieftain Hotel in Inverness on Wednesday 27 May between 4pm and 7pm.

The event is aimed at people curious about running a pub business and gives attendees the chance to meet members of the Star Pubs team alongside existing licensees already running pubs themselves.

Organisers say the session will cover the different types of pub agreements available, the support and training on offer and the latest pub opportunities currently available across the area.

Importantly, it is not simply aimed at experienced publicans.

For many people, the attraction of pub life has always been less about pulling pints and more about creating a place where people gather.

A good Highland pub is never just a business.

It becomes part living room, part meeting place and part unofficial village hall.

In an era where communities increasingly feel disconnected, there is something quietly appealing about the idea of building a warm, busy local pub where people actually know one another.

The Discovery Event is being held at the Chieftain Hotel on Millburn Road and attendees are being encouraged to come along, ask questions and get a feel for whether the lifestyle might suit them.

There is no obligation to commit to anything and organisers say the event is designed as an informal introduction to the industry.

A drink is also included.

For the right person, it could open the door to an entirely different chapter of life.

Because sometimes the best Highland stories begin with somebody deciding they fancy trying something just a wee bit different.
