Kate Forbes (pictured) has welcomed the SNP’s pledge for further targeted improvements for the main trunk road connecting the West Highlands with the central belt.
Over the past five years as constituency MSP for Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch, Ms Forbes has been repeatedly campaigning on the A82 and particularly in and around Fort William.
The SNP manifesto says the party “will make further progress in the next Parliament based upon the most up to date engineering assessments”.
Kate Forbes, SNP candidate for Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch, said:
“A party’s manifesto highlights their priorities for the next parliamentary term and I’m pleased to see recognition of the importance of the A82 in the SNP’s manifesto.
“The A82 is a longstanding issue that won’t be resolved quickly or immediately but I am committed to keeping it high on the Government’s radar and persevering until there are further improvements.”
