German Team Takes Top Honours in Royal Enfield Custom Bike Competition

A stunning custom built Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 created by a German dealership has been crowned the winner of the 2026 European Busted Knuckles Build Off.

The competition reached its climax at the Bike Shed Show in London, where six finalists from across Europe unveiled their creations after spending six months transforming Royal Enfield’s popular twin cylinder platform into unique custom motorcycles.

Germany’s Motorrad Bläsing claimed victory with its build, named SHAAN, earning an all expenses paid trip to Royal Enfield’s Motoverse festival in Goa, India.

The Busted Knuckles Build Off was created to showcase the creativity of Royal Enfield dealers and the customisation potential of the Shotgun 650.

Each finalist received a £5,000 customisation budget and was challenged to turn their design concept into a fully functioning motorcycle.

Finalists came from Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, the Czech Republic and Portugal.

The motorcycles were displayed throughout the Bike Shed Show at Tobacco Dock, one of Europe’s best known celebrations of motorcycle culture and craftsmanship.

For Motorrad Bläsing, the victory marks a second consecutive win after also taking top honours in the competition’s inaugural edition.

Builder Thomas Bläsing said:

“Finishing that bike was an absolute whirlwind, we worked on it until the very last minute, and the stress even gave me nightmares about unfinished wiring for days after.

“It is easily the most complex project we’ve ever built together, but seeing the reaction from the Bike Shed crowd made every sleepless night worth it.

“The warmth, appreciation, and deep respect for bike culture in the UK was unlike anything I’ve experienced back home, and I’m still processing how incredible it felt.”

The winner was chosen through a combination of public voting by visitors to the Bike Shed Show and judging by a panel of custom motorcycle builders and Royal Enfield designers.

Royal Enfield says the competition highlights the diversity of ideas that can be built around the Shotgun 650 platform.

Adrian Sellers, Head of Custom and Motorsport at Royal Enfield, said:

“It made perfect sense for the final display of Europe’s second BKBO to take place at the Bike Shed Show, an event dedicated to celebrating the creativity, craftsmanship, and culture surrounding motorcycles.

“It was a true privilege for attendees to see the finest work from Royal Enfield’s dealer network take center stage across the event, showcasing each dealer’s unique imagination and skillset as they interpreted the possibilities of the Shotgun 650 so differently.

“Each of the final motorbikes had its own distinct character and beautifully reflected its builder’s creativity, resulting in a display of truly diverse custom builds.”

Royal Enfield has also been documenting the competition through a series of behind the scenes films showing the design and build process behind each motorcycle.

The videos are being released through the company’s social media channels, giving enthusiasts a closer look at the skill, craftsmanship and determination required to compete at the highest level of motorcycle customisation.
