Shinty action continued across Scotland on Saturday 18th July 2026, with league fixtures and cup ties producing another weekend of goals, high scoring performances and dramatic contests across the Highlands.
The standout cup result came in the Highland Industrial Supplies Sutherland Cup, where Kyles Athletic produced an impressive 6–2 victory over Kingussie to book their place in the semi finals.
Duncan Kerr led the way with a hat trick, while David Zavaroni, Ethan Kerr and Olly MacVicar also found the net as Kyles Athletic ended Kingussie’s hopes of lifting another trophy this season.
In the Premiership, Oban Camanachd continued their impressive run of form with a convincing 3–1 victory away at Col Glen, while Kinlochshiel secured a comfortable 4–0 win over Lochaber.
Newtonmore edged a closely fought contest against Skye thanks to two goals from Iain Robinson, while league leaders Kingussie were held to a goalless draw by Caberfeidh.
The National Division produced one of the games of the weekend as Bute and Inveraray shared eight goals in a thrilling 4–4 draw.
Fraser Watt struck all four goals for Inveraray, but Bute fought back through Josh Cowan, Robert Lowrie and Rory MacDonald to earn a share of the spoils.
Glenurquhart delivered one of the most dominant performances of the weekend, sweeping aside Oban Celtic 8–0, while Lovat edged Kilmallie 3–2 in another entertaining contest.
North Division 1 saw Glenurquhart continue their strong run with a 2–1 victory away at Caberfeidh, Kinlochshiel defeated Inverness by the same scoreline, and Strathglass overcame Skye 2–1.
South Division 1 provided late drama as Ben Cameron’s 88th minute goal rescued a point for Inveraray in a 1–1 draw with Glasgow Mid Argyll, while Lochside Rovers defeated Ardnamurchan 2–1.
Aberdour’s fixture against Ballachulish was postponed after Ballachulish were unable to field a team, resulting in a two point deduction for the visitors and the match being rescheduled.
North Division 2 saw Beauly record a convincing 5–0 victory over Inverness, while South Division 2 leaders Kilmory continued their impressive campaign with a 5–0 win away at Stirling.
The weekend concluded with Lewis defeating Uist 2–0 in the HebCelt Shinty Challenge Cup, rounding off another busy programme of action as clubs continue their push towards the closing stages of the season.
