Moray West, Nairn and Strathspey MP Graham Leadbitter has congratulated Laura Mitchell following her election to represent Moray in the Scottish Parliament.

Laura Mitchell secured victory for the SNP after a closely fought election campaign across the constituency.

Graham Leadbitter said:

“Laura has won an extraordinary mandate to represent her home of Moray after a huge campaign effort that saw her speak to thousands of local people.

“I’m immensely proud of her, and so grateful to the people of Moray for once again placing their trust in the SNP.

“Laura has already been an outstanding champion for this area, and I can’t wait to work with her to secure a better deal for Moray, to lower bills, stand up for local industries like Speyside whisky, and deliver for the people who live here.”

The result keeps Moray in SNP hands following an election campaign heavily focused on the cost of living, local industries and public services.

Speyside whisky, energy costs and support for rural communities were among the key issues raised during campaigning across the constituency.
