The student representatives of the Highlands and Islands Students’ Association in Inverness College UHI have launched an initiative to deliver wellbeing packs to students over the festive period.

HISA Inverness hopes the packs will bring comfort to local students after a challenging semester.

The packs will include a puzzle, mug, hot chocolate, chocolates, a wellbeing book, some stationery for the new semester, and a card from the HISA team.

Similar initiatives are also being rolled out by HISA across Perth College UHI, West Highland College UHI, and to the Student Nurses cohort.

HISA Inverness Vice President of Activities and Welfare, Julie Riviere (pictured), said:

“The HISA Inverness team is incredibly happy that we have been able to put together these wellbeing packs, to support our students over the winter period.

“The holidays can be a challenging time for many, and we hope that this initiative helps any students that may be struggling.

“The past year has not been easy for our students and, despite the fact that many of them are currently studying remotely, we want to ensure that they still feel connected to HISA Inverness and Inverness College UHI as a whole.

“We hope these packs will boost our students’ spirits at this time as they enjoy some well-deserved time off, and we look forward to welcoming them back in the new year.”

Director of Student Experience at Inverness College UHI, Lindsay Snodgrass, said:

“We are delighted that HISA Inverness have been proactive in recognising some of the challenges students’ face, not only through these packs which will help spread some festive cheer but also the range of online activities that they have organised throughout the year to support students.”
