Minister for Business, Tourism, Trade & Enterprise Ivan McKee took part in a series of visits and engagements in Orkney yesterday.
The Minister travelled around the islands and visited local businesses to discuss how Scotland’s new ten-year Strategy for Economic Transformation will aim to ensure economic opportunities are embedded across island communities.
Mr McKee said:
“Today’s visit to Orkney was both productive and encouraging.
“It was great to meet with local business leaders and to hear about the innovative measures that they are taking to enhance the work they do.
“In order to deliver on the ambitions of the National Strategy for Economic Transformation, we must work together, whilst listening and engaging directly with industry experts to ensure that the voice of businesses is heard and that nobody is left behind, as we aim to maximise our huge economic potential and ensure that communities in every part of Scotland benefit from that.”
