Kinrara Distillery, an Aviemore based craft distillery, has achieved the ultimate endorsement in the Scottish spirits industry after one of their most popular gins was named London Dry Gin of the Year at the 5th annual Scottish Gin Awards.

The sought-after London Dry Gin of the Year category, sponsored by Vetroelite, welcomed 47 gins into the finals and is one of the biggest awards of the year.

Kinrara Distillery was delighted when the gold medal was awarded to their Artist Edition ‘Ginny’ the Highland Cow Gin.

Another of Kinrara’s gins, their Distiller’s Edition Rose & Cardamom, picked up a silver award in the Herb & Spiced Flavoured gin category at the ceremony on 27th October.

The 2021 judging panel, comprising 45 leading Scottish spirits industry professionals, assessed written entries from 67 Scottish gin businesses and undertook an extensive taste competition of 320 gins before selecting their winners.

Distillery Director, Karen Fletcher said:

“We’re delighted to have won this award which confirms that the gins we are making are some of Scotland’s best.

“When we first started producing our gins in 2017, we knew they were special and we were all delighted with them, but for them to be recognised this year as the best in Scotland; it’s truly humbling for our little distillery.”

Based on the outskirts of Aviemore, Kinrara Distillery is delighted to add these awards to their growing list of accolades, with their Highland Dry Gin previously being named ‘Best Scottish Contemporary’ at the 2021 World Gin Awards.

Kinrara has recently reopened their doors to the public following extensive refurbishment, with an onsite shop and daily tasting experiences available.
