The hills above Dunfermline will roar into life once again with the sound of racing engines as the 2025 sporting season starts at Knockhill Racing Circuit, Scotland’s National Motorsports Centre.

The event will be the first of two Armed Forces, NHS and Blue Light Appreciation events on the 5th and 6th of April with Scottish Championship car racing from the Knockhill and Scottish Motor Racing Clubs championships.

The weekend offers free entry to all veterans and serving in the Armed Forces as well as those who work in the NHS and Blue Light Services with anyone accompanying them getting in for the concessionary rate.

An action-packed weekend will use the world’s unique “Twin Track” format with racing anti-clockwise on Saturday and the same competitors racing in a clockwise direction on Sunday.

Topping the bill are the Scottish Legends Championship which are marking their 25th year of racing in Scotland.

This American based championship features Legends Cars, motorcycle engined single seaters based on 1950’s American hot rods.

These “pocket-rocket” cars are super competitive with a record estimated 40 cars registered for the 2025 championship- and only 34 can start a race at Knockhill!

Returning multiple champion Stewart Black in car 52 will have his work cut out to retain his title this year as several English competitors are turning their backs on the National Championship to tackle the highly competitive Scottish scene.

Stuart Gray, Knockhill’s Director of Events said:

“2025 promises to be a memorable season as not only are Legends marking 25 years in Scotland but Knockhill is celebrating 50 years of car racing at the May event.

“It was on the 18th of May 1975 that Edinburgh’s Edward Labhinjo won the first ever car race at Knockhill and so this season will continue our celebrations as we mark Knockhill’s 50th.

“The first event on April 5th/6th is a great way to start what promises to be a special season for so many.”

The race meeting features Scottish Classics, Minis, C1s, ModSports, Fiesta STs, Super Lap Scotland as well as the Scottish Legends.

Action is from 8.30 to 5pm each day with adult admission £17, concessions £13 and under 12s free.
