Loganair, the UK’s leading regional airline, has announced it will adopt Avios as the loyalty currency for its Clan Loganair programme starting in 2025.

This partnership makes Loganair the seventh airline to join the global Avios network, which already includes British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus, Vueling, Qatar Airways, and Finnair.

Serving over 1.5 million passengers annually on nearly 70 routes, Loganair is vital to Scotland’s remote communities and regional hubs, including Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Inverness, and Newcastle.

Its services also extend to London Heathrow, cementing its importance in connecting the UK’s regions.

The move to Avios will offer significant benefits for customers, strengthening Loganair’s partnership with British Airways through their existing codeshare agreement.

Clan Loganair members will be automatically transitioned to the new scheme, making the process seamless for current participants.

The change allows members to combine Avios balances with the British Airways Executive Club, enabling them to redeem points across a wider range of networks.

Luke Lovegrove, Chief Commercial Officer at Loganair, expressed excitement over the partnership, emphasising the enhanced value it will bring to customers.

“We strive to offer our customers added value at every stage of their journey,” said Lovegrove.

“Partnering with IAG Loyalty to adopt Avios as the currency of our Clan programme is a significant development that will open up a world of new benefits for our customers.”

He added that the airline looks forward to introducing the new rewards in 2025 and welcoming both Clan and Avios members onboard.

Veronica Vicars, Chief Growth Officer at IAG Loyalty, celebrated the addition of Loganair to the Avios network.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Loganair as the newest member of our Avios family, marking a significant milestone as our seventh airline partner,” Vicars said.

“With Loganair’s addition, we can offer customers even greater opportunities to earn and redeem Avios across their important domestic network in the UK and beyond.”

She highlighted the ambition to make Avios the most flexible and widely accepted travel loyalty currency globally.

The integration promises seamless earning and redemption opportunities across a growing portfolio of airlines and destinations.

Loganair’s partnership with Avios marks a new chapter in travel rewards, offering greater choice and value for passengers.
