Officers and emergency services were called to a property in the Balloan Road area at around 10pm on Thursday, 28 May, where the men, aged 28 and 35, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Police Scotland have confirmed the identity of the two men.
Dwayne MacLeay (aged 28) main picture and Gary MacKay (aged 35) have been formally identified and their relatives are aware.
Both families have released a short statement and photographs.
The following statement is released on behalf of the family of Dwayne MacLeay:
“Dwayne was a kind, gentle caring person who would help anybody, he lived to play his guitar and sing.
“The family request privacy at this time.”
The following statement is released on behalf of the family of Gary MacKay (pictured above):
“Gary was a dearly beloved son of Gordon and Linda, a brother of Darren and Alan, uncle and a friend to many.
“Gary was known by the nickname ‘Chunk’ by many and he will be sorely missed by all.
“Gary was a happy and friendly person, his passion was to watch Inverness Caley Thistle, his team who he followed for many years.
“We have been shocked by the recent events and would ask that our privacy is respected at this difficult time.”
A 23-year-old has been charged in connection with the two deaths and further injuries caused to a 27-year-old female.
He is expected to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court on Monday, 1 June, 2020.
