Moray Council is asking residents, community groups and organisations to help shape how it engages with local people and delivers services in the years ahead.
A public consultation has been launched through the Moray Engage platform, with feedback set to influence the council’s new Community Engagement Strategy and Customer Experience Strategy.
The consultation is open until 7 August and aims to understand how people want to interact with the council, how they prefer to share their views and whether current services are meeting expectations.
Council officials say the exercise is designed to create a more effective approach to communication and engagement, ensuring residents have a meaningful opportunity to influence decisions affecting their communities.
The consultation also seeks to identify the best ways for local people to participate in discussions, recognising that some prefer online engagement while others favour face to face conversations or involvement through community groups.
Residents can complete an online survey or speak directly with council representatives at a number of pop up events planned across Moray during the summer.
Confirmed events include Tesco in Elgin on Saturday 11 July from 10am until 3pm, Dufftown Highland Games on Saturday 25 July and the Keith Show on Saturday 8 August.
The feedback gathered will help shape future strategies aimed at improving how the council listens to communities, responds to concerns and develops services used by residents every day.
Moray Council Leader Kathleen Robertson said the consultation is intended to strengthen the relationship between the authority and the communities it serves.
“We want to make sure local people have a genuine opportunity to influence the decisions that affect their communities and the services they use.
“This consultation is about listening to residents, understanding what matters most to them and learning how they would like to engage with us in the future.
“Whether you complete the survey online or speak to us at one of our pop-up events, your feedback will help shape how Moray Council communicates, consults and works with communities for years to come.
“I would encourage everyone to take a few minutes to have their say.”
The council says its ambition is to create an engagement process that is accessible, meaningful and built around the needs of communities across Moray.
