Nairn Businesses Invited to Celebrate Scotland Loves Local Week

Nairn businesses are being encouraged to get involved in Scotland Loves Local week by creating special offers and getting involved in a fast-paced business breakfast.

Scotland Loves Local Week will take place from Saturday June 13 until Saturday June 20 and is an initiative run by Scotland’s Towns Partnership.

The weekis a chance to shine a spotlight on all that makes Nairn a great place to do business as well as highlighting the transformational impact that choosing local has on places, families and the future of our community.

Nairn BID manager Lucy Harding explained:

“Nairn is an absolutely fantastic place to do business and one of our roles, is to shout about what an amazing offering we have across the town and the Nairn BID membership.

“It is not difficult to shop local in Nairn for most things and by shopping local, we plough money back into our own economy.”

Lucy added:

“There are two main events that we are hosting.

“The first is external, where we are asking our businesses to create Scotland Loves Local Week offers.

“We have done this before and they have been a success.

“We will promote the offers or initiatives on our Nairn Loves Local and Nairn BID social media channels and on the website.

“The second way businesses can get involved is at our business breakfast for members.

“This is a chance for our business community to get together, but we are hoping they will take an interactive role by putting themselves in the spotlight to talk about their own business for one minute and also give a quick recommendation for another brilliant local business they love or work with.

“This shouldn’t be too taxing as we know of so many business who support each other already.”

Kimberley Guthrie, Chief Officer of Scotland’s Towns Partnership, said:

“Scotland Loves Local Week is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate all that’s special about Nairn and the brilliant businesses in the community.

“It’s terrific to have Nairn BID flying the flag for the town.

“It is easy to underestimate the impact of local people supporting local businesses, and local businesses supporting one another.

“Yet every one of us can play a remarkable role in driving community wealth and building stronger, more resilient communities simply by choosing to do so.”
