Drivers using the A9 near Dowally are being warned to expect overnight traffic restrictions for around two weeks as work continues on the Tay Crossing to Ballinluig dualling project.
Temporary traffic signals and convoy working will operate on the A9 south and north of the Dowally East junction from Monday, 31 August until approximately Friday, 11 September.
The restrictions will operate between 7pm and 7am.
There will be no work on Saturday or Sunday evenings.
Three way temporary traffic signals will be used while construction teams carry out carriageway widening and remove and install road markings.
The work is required before traffic can be moved onto temporarily realigned lanes.
Drivers should expect slower journeys through the area while convoy working is operating and are being advised to allow additional time.
The next significant change is expected from Friday, 11 September.
Temporary road markings and signs will then guide traffic onto a realigned section of the A9 carriageway.
Moving vehicles onto the temporary alignment will allow further construction work to take place in the area as the wider dualling project progresses.
The work forms part of the A9 Dualling Tay Crossing to Ballinluig scheme, with changing road layouts and temporary traffic management required as construction moves through different stages.
Drivers approaching Dowally during the overnight working periods are being asked to take particular care and follow temporary signs and instructions.
Access will continue to be maintained for emergency vehicles throughout the work.
Pedestrian access will also remain available at all times.
The planned dates remain dependent on weather conditions and could change if conditions prevent work from being carried out safely.
For drivers travelling the A9 overnight between 31 August and 11 September, the important details are straightforward.
Expect temporary traffic lights and convoy working around Dowally between 7pm and 7am from Monday to Friday.
Allow a little longer for the journey and watch for another change to the road layout from 11 September.
