Premier Sports is raising the curtain on a thrilling new chapter in Scottish football coverage with a fresh line up of familiar faces and a smart new way to watch the big game.
As Celtic and Aberdeen get ready to clash in the Scottish Gas Scottish Cup Final on Saturday 25 May, fans across the country will have the chance to follow every pass, sprint and strike like never before.
The broadcaster has teamed up with the Scottish FA and Genius Sports to unveil Tactical View, an immersive viewing mode that adds live player data and match analysis to the screen as the action unfolds.
This new feature will let viewers see a real-time player map, track the ball’s movement, identify who’s in possession and view the speed of shots on goal.
It’s powered by GeniusIQ and will be available to anyone using Premier Sports’ streaming service, offering a more analytical lens on the match.
For those who want the traditional broadcast, it’s there too, but fans can now toggle between the standard view and the Tactical View with ease.
Richard Sweeney, CEO of Premier Sports, called it a game changer for football fans.
“Tactical View is all about giving supporters more choice,” he said.
“It adds a fresh layer of insight to the match without losing the drama of the moment.”
Jonny Katanchian from Genius Sports echoed that excitement.
“Football fans expect more from their viewing experience,” he said.
“This puts Scottish football at the forefront of global innovation.”
Brendan Napier from Scottish Football Marketing called the new approach a brilliant addition to a cherished day on the football calendar.
Viewers tuning in from 2pm will also be treated to a heavyweight pundit team bringing experience, perspective and passion to the occasion.
Emma Dodds returns to present, joined by former Celtic manager Neil Lennon, Aberdeen favourite Andrew Considine and former Scotland international Charlie Mulgrew.
Connie McLaughlin will be pitchside, while the voice of Rory Hamilton leads the commentary with Michael Stewart and Alan Hutton alongside.
Lennon’s deep ties to Celtic, both as a player and manager, bring weight to his insight.
Considine is a legend at Pittodrie with more than 440 appearances to his name.
Mulgrew has worn both jerseys and knows exactly what’s at stake.
It’s a line up rich in experience and personality, offering fans expert takes and big-match atmosphere throughout the afternoon.
The final will be shown live on Premier Sports 1 across the UK and Ireland, with coverage starting at 2pm and kick off at 3pm.
Fans can watch on Sky, Virgin, Amazon Prime, the STV Player or stream through the Premier Sports app on most devices.
The broadcaster’s summer of football continues in July when the Premier Sports Cup group stages begin.
