On Thursday, 7th November, Inverness will be buzzing with rock fans flocking from across the UK and Europe as Monsterfest 2024 launches in style, culminating in epic headliner nights at Eden Court Theatre on 8th and 9th November.

Now in its sixth year, Monsterfest has made waves in the rock scene since 2018, only pausing briefly during the pandemic, and this year’s festival marks the final chapter as organisers turn their eyes to new horizons.

This year’s lineup is stacked with rock royalty, led by Ricky Warwick, the charismatic frontman of The Almighty and Thin Lizzy’s latest incarnation, playing an exclusive UK show with his solo band ahead of a highly anticipated 2025 album.

Joining the festival bill is the Kris Barras Band, hailed as the UK’s top new rock act and fresh off their April triumph with a Top 5 hit in the national album charts, promising a hard-hitting performance sure to resonate with fans.

Classic rock aficionados are in for a treat on Friday night as former Journey, Whitesnake, The Dead Daisies, and Thin Lizzy bassist Marco Mendoza hits the stage, backed by a star-studded lineup featuring Swedish vocalist Mats Leven, and joined by Highland’s own Josh Mackenzie and Kenna Ross.

Adding a distinctive educational spin to the weekend, Mendoza will be headlining this year’s Education Day, where nearly 100 students will gain insights from music industry pros and hear about Marco’s rock ‘n’ roll journey, including his famed performance at the ‘Dirty Dancing’ wrap party in 1987.

Beyond the headliners, the festival promises a feast of music with emerging talents Muddibrooke and Stone Angels, alongside Inverness favourites Lucid Liars and Bad Actress, bringing local energy to the stage and making the final Monsterfest one to remember.

Monsterfest’s enduring legacy extends beyond music, with local partnerships from the likes of Loch Ness Water, Uile-bheist Distillery, Eastgate Centre, and Dickson’s Motors, along with backing from the Highland Council Common Good Fund, underscoring its deep roots in the Inverness community.

Tickets are on sale through the Eden Court box office, and for a complete schedule of artists and events, visit www.monsterfest.rocks
