Shinty Delivers Goals and Big Wins Across The Highlands

Shinty action continued across Scotland on Saturday 11th April 2026, with cup ties, league fixtures and high scoring performances combining to deliver another busy weekend across the Highlands.

With conditions improving in places, more fixtures were completed, and several sides took full advantage with dominant wins and strong statements.

In the W M Donald MacTavish Cup, Skye progressed with a convincing 4–1 win over Kilmallie, with four different scorers contributing in a composed performance.

In the Sutherland Cup, Lochaber edged a tight 2–1 win over Kilmallie, while Bute delivered one of the most emphatic results of the weekend with an 8–1 victory over Stirling, underlining their attacking strength.

In the Mowi Premiership, Fort William secured a solid 2–0 win over Col Glen, with goals from Ewen Campbell and Mark Fraser ensuring a controlled performance.

In the National Division, Beauly produced a dominant 5–0 win over Oban Celtic, while Glenurquhart claimed a 2–0 victory over Bute following a reversed fixture.

North Division 1 delivered drama and goals, with Kingussie edging Glenurquhart 3–2 in a competitive contest, while Newtonmore hit five in a 5–1 win over Glengarry.

Skye also impressed with a 3–1 win over Caberfeidh, while Strathglass secured a narrow 1–0 victory over Fort William.

In South Division 1, Ardnamurchan recorded a 2–1 win over Aberdour in another closely fought match.

North Division 2 saw Aberdeen University take a strong 3–1 win over Beauly, while Lochcarron matched that scoreline against Lovat.

In South Division 2, Strachur Dunoon continued their strong run with a 5–0 win over Aberdour, while Kilmory secured a 2–0 victory over Uddingston in a game that also saw a red card issued.

In the women’s competitions, several fixtures were again affected by unplayable pitches, though Kinlochshiel and Glasgow Mid Argyll shared the points in a 1–1 draw.

With more fixtures completed and teams beginning to find rhythm, the season is now starting to build real momentum across all levels of the game.
