Following the announcement that Books of Condolences and Gardens of Remembrance are now open across the Highlands, The Convener of The Highland Council is inviting people to pay their respects.

Speaking after a visit to Inverness Cathedral’s Garden of Remembrance, where he was joined by The Provost of Inverness, Glynis Sinclair and The Highland Council’s Chief Executive, Donna Manson to lay floral tributes, Convener, Councillor Bill Lobban said:

“Coming together to express our respects and share our condolences may help us come to terms with such a loss at this sad time.

“I know I speak for many people when I say our heartfelt sympathies are with the Royal Family.

“The Gardens of Remembrance will be a focus for people to come and pay tribute to the life and service of Her Majesty and the Books of Condolences will provide an opportunity for personal messages to be left.”
