The world’s strongest brothers have joined forces with one of Scotland’s rising Para Powerlifting stars as excitement builds ahead of the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.
Tom and Luke Stoltman welcomed Team Scotland athlete Finlay Davidson to their Stoltman Strength Centre in Invergordon, where the trio trained together ahead of a summer that promises to put strength sports firmly in the spotlight.
Finlay, 21, from Inverkeithing, will represent Scotland in the men’s Lightweight Under 72kg Para Powerlifting competition and is set to compete for the first medal of the Games when the sport opens the programme on 24 July at the SEC Armadillo.
The visit brought together one of Scotland’s brightest young talents with two of the most recognisable figures in world strength sport.
Tom Stoltman is a three time World’s Strongest Man champion and the first Scot ever to win the title, while older brother Luke is a two time Europe’s Strongest Man winner and six time World’s Strongest Man finalist.

For Finlay, the opportunity to train alongside athletes he has long admired was a memorable moment as he prepares for the biggest competition of his career.
He said:
“I never thought I’d get to compete at a home Games, and I never thought I’d have the chance to train with two of the world’s biggest strength athletes. I can’t believe both are coming true.
“The Stoltman Brothers are an inspiration for what they’ve done on a world stage, while managing to stay so grounded and down to earth.
“They’re brilliant guys and top training partners, we definitely learned a lot from each other.
“Hopefully next time we train together, I’ll have even more to teach them with a Games under my belt!.”
Finlay first discovered Para Powerlifting at the Dwarf Sports Association UK National Games in 2022 and his progress has been rapid.
Within a year he had finished fourth at his first major championships and last year he competed at his first senior World Championships, establishing himself as one of Scotland’s most promising athletes in the sport.
The Stoltmans believe Glasgow 2026 offers a chance not only for medals and memorable performances, but also to inspire a new generation to take up strength sports.
Tom said:
“We’re very proud to have trained with Finlay and wish him all the best.
“He’s an incredible athlete and we learned a lot from his technique, his attitude to training, and his attitude to life.
“Para Powerlifting will be one of the highlights of the Games and, after meeting Finlay, we know Team Scotland have a rising star who’ll be a huge hit with fans!
“You’ll be missing out if you’re not there to see it.”
The Commonwealth Games return to Glasgow from 23 July to 2 August, bringing together 3,000 athletes from 74 nations and territories across 10 sports.
With a record Para sport programme and hundreds of thousands of tickets already sold, Scotland’s athletes will be hoping a home crowd can help inspire performances to remember.
For the Stoltmans and Finlay Davidson, that journey is already well underway.
