The spirit of giving has found a powerful voice through a dedicated group of young leaders who are transforming lives this festive season.
High Life Highland’s remarkable young volunteers are stepping up to support Mission Christmas, a charitable initiative ensuring no child goes without gifts on Christmas morning.
Students from several local academies – including Nairn, Inverness Royal, Charleston, and Milburn – are dedicating their Friday mornings to an extraordinary mission of compassion.
Working diligently at Mission Christmas headquarters, these young leaders meticulously fill gift sacks, bringing hope and joy to families facing challenging circumstances.
Elizabeth MacDonald, Leadership Programme Development Officer, captures the profound impact of their involvement:
“The scale of support needed becomes truly apparent when you witness the number of families seeking assistance and the incredible donations arriving.”
Rosie Walker, a dedicated S3 student from Nairn Academy, exemplifies the volunteers’ heartfelt motivation.
Having already contributed over 250 volunteering hours, she reflects on the deeper meaning of her commitment:
“Knowing I’ve been fortunate enough to receive gifts makes giving back to the community an incredibly meaningful experience.”
Mission Christmas Warehouse Manager Fiona Will emphasises the critical role these young volunteers play:
“The ongoing need for support is significant, and these High Life Highland Young Leaders are making an invaluable contribution to ensuring children experience the magic of Christmas.”
Their collective efforts represent more than just gift distribution; they embody a powerful demonstration of community spirit, empathy, and youth leadership.
As the holiday season approaches, these young volunteers remind us that compassion knows no age limit and that true community support can transform lives one gift at a time.
