Champions galore and legendary bikes this weekend as the clock is turned back to 22nd September 1974.
The team at Knockhill and all of Scottish bike sport are eagerly looking forward to this weekend event at Knockhill, Scotland’s National Motorsport Centre, as the clock is turned back to Sunday 22nd September 1974, the day of the opening of Knockhill and its first ever bike race meeting.
Saturday 21st is action packed as it features classic and sidecar racing together with two 50 laps endurance races on Sunday 22nd, however, over 50 Scottish champions are coming as the guests of the Circuit, together with members of the Kinnaird family who’s father Tom Kinnaird built the track.
There are even riders, officials and marshals who helped run the first meeting attending, such is the interest in the meeting.
Star Scottish riders such as Brian Morrison, Donnie McLeod, Rory Skinner and Sandy Christie are on track and on the main interview stage, as well as international stars such as TT legend John McGuinness.Â
A number of special features and photo opportunities are planned for the fans including a recreation of the opening ceremony with the actual bike used returning to Knockhill after 5 decades, a unique track walk opportunity and parades of champions.

“With over 50 Scottish champions attending on Sunday, there has never been a gathering like this before with racers who won at the first event in 1974 to others who clinched their 2024 titles last month!
“The paddocks will be full of nostalgia, reminiscing and many a tale told about racing exploits from the last 50 years.
“Add in quality classic solo and sidecar racing, the Jock Taylor Memorial Trophy Race, Rewind bikes from the 70s, 80s and 90s, it’s an event not to be missed for bike fans of all ages.
“Add in Grand Prix bikes, including Barry Sheene’s Suzuki GP bike, Isle of Man TT winning bikes and others that have won across the world, the quality of show bikes is exceptional.”
