Bad Actress Ready to Turn Up The Volume at Dornoch Music Festival

There is something special about watching a Highland band take to a Highland stage, and Bad Actress will be looking to do exactly that when they arrive at Dornoch Music Festival next weekend.

Formed in Forres in 2018, the band has built a reputation as one of Scotland’s hardest working live rock acts, earning fans across the country through relentless touring, powerful performances and an unmistakable passion for classic hard rock.

While many bands talk about chasing the dream, Bad Actress have spent the past few years living it, taking their music to audiences across the UK while steadily building a catalogue of original songs that blend driving riffs, blues influences and big singalong choruses.

Their journey has taken them to major festivals including Belladrum, WinterStorm, BonFest, MacMoray, Wildfire and MonsterFest, while sharing stages with legendary names including Sweet, GUN, Geoff Tate, Marco Mendoza, Hardline and Babylon AD.

Their latest single, Don’t Look Down, carries a message that goes beyond the music.

Frontman Chick explained the inspiration behind the song.

“I was once berated by a teacher in front of the class simply because he didn’t like my appearance.

“When I returned the sentiment, admittedly using a few choice words, I was suspended.

“So, the premise of Don’t Look Down is pretty basic.

“It’s about acceptance, just letting people be who they want to be and not looking down on them for it.

“It sounds simple enough but in reality we all know it’s not that easy, that’s why we wrote a song about it.

“It’s an upbeat song, full of solid riffs and a healthy dose of defiance.

“It’s one to play loud and sing along to.”

That attitude runs through everything the band does.

Bad Actress describe their mission as writing songs people will keep coming back to, delivering performances packed with energy and making every audience feel part of the experience.

Festivalgoers can expect exactly that in Dornoch, where the band will add another burst of Highland rock to a weekend already packed with music, food, family entertainment and summer atmosphere.

With 18 bands performing across two days, Dornoch Music Festival continues to showcase some of the best established and emerging talent from Scotland and beyond.

For Bad Actress, it is another opportunity to do what they love most, turn the amplifiers up, get the crowd singing and remind everyone why live music still matters.

For those looking for a summer weekend that combines live music, food, family entertainment and a chance to experience one of the Highlands’ most picturesque towns, Dornoch Music Festival may offer exactly that.

Tickets for Dornoch Music Festival are available now, with the event taking place on Friday 17 July and Saturday 18 July in Dornoch.
